Friday was career day at Lydia's school. The kids were all quite cute. Lydia was a veterinarian and one friend was a cowgirl. Another friend was a cheerleader. Oh, to want to be a cowgirl for a living...I miss those days. The cheerleader's mom said that she hopes that she attains that career in high school and can move on.
My own career at the elementary school is OK. I had a problem with a colleague that turned into a big mess that took a bit of joy out of my job. I am one who really dislikes conflict. I'm taking a training right now on conflict resolution which looks at conflict as a growing experience. Makes me think of the cliche, "A day late and a dollar short." Ah well, it is a good training and I am trying to learn something. I really enjoy working with the kids, and that is really what it is all about. I just have to keep reminding myself of that.
Following is a picture of our lovely cat Kerry. He is still very crazy, fun and loving. We have magnetic letters on the refrigerator and he pulls them all off to play with. He will basically bat anything around the floor. We still have the litter box in the bathroom and he still plays in it. When we let him outside, he just goes into the rafters in the garage. He is not very adventurous when outside. That should keep him safe from the coyotes, but not good for the outdoor potty trained cat.
Last is a picture of Ryan's Christmas present to us. Our son is quite the artist. I picked him up from school last Thursday and asked him what he had done that day. He said that he made me things. I looked at the things that he brought home and they all looked like plain white pieces of paper. On closer inspection, I noticed each had a small cut on them and some very small pen mark. I might send them to my sister Linda. She really appreciates Ryan's art.
